She Talks to Angels

And Constantine Maroulis sounded like an angel..or maybe more like the Greek God that he is!! Mr. Maroulis was the Grand Marshal at the Citrus Parade in Orlando, Florida. He sang a song by the Black Crowes.."She Talks To Angels" and sounded fantastic!!! Dressed in black from head to toe, Greekboy was more gorgeous than the Florida sunshine! His future's so bright he's gotta wear shades which just added to his sexyness!!! Greek flags were waving and screams could be heard through out the audience. As usual, Constantine took some time to meet a few fans and pose for a few pics remaining true to his sweetheart image that he is known and loved for. The fans give their love to the Maroulis Magic and he returns that love . An amazing performance by an even more amazing man, Constantine Maroulis once again rocked it!!!! Way to go, Greekboy! Undying love to you, my man!!

Citrus Parade Info

ORLANDO, Fla. - Staying true to its "raising the bar" slogan, Cingular Wireless has secured American Idol 4 finalist Constantine Maroulis as the Grand Marshal for the 25th Annual Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Air Lines to be held in downtown Orlando on Friday, Dec. 30. Cingular is the exclusive wireless sponsor for American Idol.

Maroulis, dubbed American Idol's sexy, shaggy-haired rocker, was the sixth place finisher last season. Con takes House of Blues by storm!

Constantine Maroulis turned the House of Blues in Atlantic City into "Maroulis Mansion" on Dec. 22, 2oo6. The Greek God Rocker sang pretty much the same set list as he did at the Starland Ballroom Dec. 21 only he was even better the second time around! He sang with even more energy and power and there was more bantering with the audience that the fans truly loved!! Constantine has always been great to his fans and in return he recieves their unconditional love and support His ability to sing just about anything and add his own spin to it helps to push him up the ladder of success along with his handsome and sexy good looks and eye f*cks that drives his female fans into a frenzy!!! Brother Athan introduced Constantine to the crowd. Athan is also loved by the Con fans. Taylor, one of Con's Pray For The Soul of Betty band mates was once again on hand helping out with the Constantine and Betty merchandise and Taylor looked too cute in his Constantine shirt!!
The band will soon accompany their lead vocalist on a mini tour which is sure to please all of the "Bettys". They love the band and the guys and support them til death do they part!
Speaking of Pray For the Soul of Betty...I recieved my Pray For The Soul of Betty hoodie just in time for Christmas!! Needless to say, I flove it and thanks to the guys for their hard work on getting them made up and shipped out just in time!!! You all rock to the fullest!!! I'm looking forward to some new Betty and can't wait for the Con solo album!!! That will send me beyond heaven!!! Happy Holidays to one and all and have a very safe and extremly happy New Year!!!
With love and visions of Constantine dancing in my head,

Con Rocked the Starland Ballroom!!

A glowing Constantine Maroulis rocked the Starland Ballroom in NJ last night! To the fans' delight, Constantine brought something for everyone to his solo performance!!! Great music such as Van Morrison, Coldplay, The Doors, John Lennon, The Rolling Stones to songs by the Partridge Family, Black Crows, One Song Glory from Rent, Hard to Handle by the Black Crows, along with some favorite Christmas songs just to name a few! Greekboy speaks

Greekboy has been and remains a very busy man! He recently updated his journal that can be found here: Con's latest journal entry

This is what the pretty Greek one had to say:

December 18th 2005

Lovers,

Been a while since I posted a journal but Santa has been a busy little elf.
Huh? Anyway, I wanted to reach out and touch you...I mean talk to
you...something like that! OWW!! I'm sitting in the airport in Las Vegas
(lay-over from Sacramento) contemplating the universe and so I decided to
put down some thoughts...

(Oh, by the way, thanks to all the cool cats who showed up in
Sacramento...it was a lot of fun...early but fun!! I did my best and I'm
glad we could
share some Holiday Love with each other!!)

*Greekboy gets all warm and fuzzy*

First, I want to thank and congratulate the awesome cats on the AI boards
for cracking the "ONE MILLION KISS" mark!!! This was amazing and I am
eternally grateful to you for making me...us, a part of AI history.
Unreal!
This once again proves I have the Greatest Fans in the Galaxy! Top that
IDOL '06!!! YOWWWWWW!!!

Listen, I want you all to know that I love you all equally...there are no
favorites here. I owe you all so much for supporting me and my family this
year. So funny, I can't even keep up with all the fan groups...but I love
it!! I wish you all the happiness in the world and send much positive
energy
and love!! Lil' Jon Yeah!

Looking forward to seeing all you sexy people in NJ for my BIG SOLO DEBUT!!
*Gulp* As if you don't already know the 21st @ The Starland Ballroom and
the
22nd at The House of Blues!!! Gonna be sick! Not me...the show. I mean
that in a good way...we used to say that as kids, still do! (there are
still
some tix available so come thru with yo' bad self!!) The show will be
family friendly and very diverse. Speaking of NJ...thanks to all the
hotties who showed up in Freehold at the signing...that was way cool!

Again, Manila was amazing and I can't wait to go back...also planning out
the Asian visits. Shout out to the Ayala peeps and the amazing security
team. RIKO!!!!! Jason and Athan both have a huge following there now as a
result
and are planning to bring there act to South East Asia again very soon!!
;)

As for "The Show"-I want you to know that Caryn and I are working our
buts off to knock it out the park on this one. Be patient. We have a mind
blowing idea for the casting of a certain family member too. We'll see!?

Stay tuned and be patient...we want it to be amazing!!!

I have been writing like crazy...songs, lyrics, stories, everything!!
Can't wait to share it all with you. That's what it is all about. I've
been approached about doing a book...wait did I say that? Ooops!!

I've been in sessions with some other great writers too. Anyway, it's all
good...!!

Most of you know that I have announced some tour dates with "Pray for the
Soul of Betty" ...I am very stoked about this. This decision does not
effect my plans for a SOLO RECORD, so chill on that. The band and I have a
bunch of new tunes that I think will really surprise people. The shows are
All Ages and will be fine for teens. Gonna do some true classics too.
Frankly, I miss Rockin' OUT!! So here's to Patti, Tina, Yoko, Aretha,
Nona, Nikko and me!
... I have some great "guests" that I have invited to join us in certain
cities too...Who? Where you ask? Guess you will have to come to Every Show
to see!! (lol) The sets WILL change a lot... so? I encourage people to
help each other out and think like one big family. It's all about good
times and great tastes. I grew up following the Grateful Dead a bit and
they had an amazing fan base and community that followed them. Always
there to help each other out. It was an incredible thing to be a part
of...trust me. So have fun and love each other.

So STREET TEAMS...FULL SPEED AHEAD!! Get the word out there and bring 'em
in...OW!

Can anyone say ROAD TRIP??? That's right, break out the Family Truckster
and roll up baby!!

Can't wait to ring in the New Year and get crackin' on a bunch of exciting
new projects. If I gave them ALL away it wouldn't be any fun RIGHT?? OW!!
I assure you lots of fun stuff coming up in THE '06!

Certainly a Solo Album, BAM!! Already in pre-production phase...of course
it's gonna be slammin'!!

*Greekboy rolls up his sleeves*

Greekboy also likes to keep some things a mystery but if we can make the
album work together with "The Show" ... now that be somethin'!!

The NJ shows are gonna be crazy...THE BAND IS BAD LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON!!
It's the return of FUNKY IN DA MIDDLE!!!

Hoped you dug R&K it was a lot of fun. I liked it!! Singin' with my "TV
Uncle" was a dream come true!! Made Mom & Dad proud. Go IRISH!! Go
Yanks!!! Go Giants!!!!!

I am psyched to be with the family this Christmas...very psyched! This
year I can actually afford gifts (lol)

...but yet no Mrs. Claus to wrap them with. :(

Hey...some other fun stuff - I have been asked to be The Grand Marshall in
The Citrus Bowl Parade on Dec. 30th and what that means exactly...I have no
idea. No, jus' kidding! I will have my very own float...made of
rootbeer...no I don't. I will be performing as well. I guess it will be
on TV
and stuff.

So I gotta get on the plane now...gotta get back to NYC. I love you all
very much...thank you for all your support!!

YOUZ RAWK!!

Your slave to the traffic light,

Const~

(what my bro and sis call me)

Wooo hoooo!! Ouzo and baklava for everyone!!! Love ya, Greekboy!!!!

Not such a good day in New York

Greekboy was supposed to be on GDNY but it didn't happen..Con explains why in his post on the BB:
Greekboy wrote:
(Quote)Due to the coverage of the NYC Transit Strike, that is affecting millions of commuters as we speak, the GDNY producers and I have decided that my performance on the show this morning is not nearly as important as keeping NYers informed as to what is happenning with the breaking events. I mean DUH?? LOL In other words...I won't be on today. They have their entire staff on the story and it is an emergency situation...we are old friends over there and I'm sure we will be back soon. I truly apologize for any inconveinence. Back to sleep!!

See you in NJ...the band is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

Much love to you all,

C

p.s. Tamara Pogosian, a local designer who is up & coming, had custom made me a suit for the show. I am so sorry Tamara...we will ROCK the suit soon enough...OW!(End Quote)

Well, Connie...We'll be looking forward to seeing you in that new custom made suit in the very near future and we know you'll be on GDNY again soon!!! We love the animal!! LOL Such a sweetheart you are!! MUAH!!!

He sang "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and then later sang "The Christmas Song" with Regis which was so dayum cute!! I really loved the little duet!! Kelly Rippa kinda got on my nerves doing whatever the hell it was she was doing in the background behind Connie and Reg but I was able to tune her out and enjoy the performance!!

Manila Review!

Constantine rocks Manila

First posted 04:52am (Mla time) Dec 03, 2005
By Ronald Mangubat
Inquirer

Editor's Note: Published on page A2-3 of the December 3, 2005 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer

FOR MORE than an hour, thousands of cheering fans screamed and shrieked as Constantine James Maroulis of "American Idol" fame rocked Greenbelt 3 in a free concert recently, bringing with him a pastiche of energetic, upbeat songs that sent some ladies wailing.

Audience

Surprisingly, while most of the audience belonged to the younger generation, some old folks joined the Constantine mania. We caught a hip septuagenarian woman stomping her feet and screaming as the 29-year-old Greek-American performer did his famous head-banging movements.

It was more than just the long, tousled locks and the sly grin-it was his intense, raw energy and roguish sex appeal that added up to his magnetic magic.

Stage presence

From the moment he took the stage up to his encore, Constantine held the screaming audience in the palm of his hand.

This artist had stage presence, a skill he probably mastered even as a student (he holds a degree

in fine arts, majoring in musical theater and minoring in voice from the Boston Conservatory) and as the lead vocalist of the post-grunge rock band Pray for the Soul of Betty.

He knew how to work the crowd, and even inserted dramatic pauses in between the last bars of his songs. He winked, stared, gyrated and raised his arms-and the screams never stopped!

Constantine's most applauded numbers were Khani Cole's "You've Made Me So Very Happy," Seal's "Kiss From a Rose," "Every Little Thing" by The Police and "Moon Dance," recently popularized again by Michael Bubl‚.

While his voice may not be as cool as the Canadian crooner's, Constantine's rougher version added grit that further enhanced his rugged appeal.

Best musicians

The rock artist expressed his thanks to members of his all-Filipino band, headed by the show's musical director, South Border's Jay Durias, and to his Pinoy back-up singers. "I tell you, they're the best musicians I've ever worked with," he exclaimed.

When he expressed his joy to be in the country and commented, "I think I want to live here," a middle-aged woman, with typical Pinoy humor, unbashedly shouted: "Our house is big! You can live with us!"

For his encore, Constantine chose to sing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," his fitting tribute to the immortal British quartet.

By that time, most of the people in the crowd were already singing along with him, as the "American Idol" finalist sang his last notes in dramatic falsetto.

If it's really hard to please the Manila crowd, Constantine Maroulis did it with flying colors!

ATTN: All Greekboy Fan Bases!!

Constantine the actor + Constantine Solo + Constantine the Front man of Pray for the Soul of Betty= "Constantine the Musical"

Do any of you fan bases that choose to spend your time arguing and bickering with each other see a common denominator in this equation???? Here's a clue!! CONSTANTINE!!!
Love him, embrace him , and enjoy him!! Stop the insanity!!!! Find some common ground and unite!! Work together and not against each other! Find a way to compromise and support Constantine and all that he believes in and stands for!! It can be done, people! Trust me on this!!
That is all.

Con in People Mag. yet AGAIN!!

Wooo Hoooo! Love the Greek one!!

Constantine: The Sixth Backstreet Boy?

Wednesday Nov 30, 2005 6:00am EST

He may be a rocker, but Constantine Maroulis felt more like he'd joined a boy band when he arrived in the Philippines for a recent concert tour. "I got off the plane and they were waiting for me in the airport with signs," says the American Idol singer. "A whole fan group is over there. It's unreal. And the shows were a sea of thousands of people. I felt like I was a Backstreet Boy."

What was it like to be mobbed by admirers? "It can be sort of overwhelming, but I am a New Yorker – I have a pretty good sense about me," he told us at a recent DVD signing for The Best & Worst of American Idol at the Opus theater in West Nyack, N.Y. "Some girls are more enthusiastic than others, but I'm just flattered."

Now back in the States, Maroulis will have his first two U.S. solo shows on Dec. 21 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J., and on Dec. 22 at Atlantic City's House of Blues. Then it's a quiet Christmas with his "humongous" family in New Jersey, before heading to Los Angeles to shoot a pilot for his Kelsey Grammer-produced sitcom for ABC, based on the singer's Greek family and his "crazy rock 'n' roll life." And he doesn't have plans to slow down anytime soon. "I'm a workaholic, I've been doing this a long time," he says. "I'm just blessed to have these opportunities."

And another CONpost!

Seems Connie posted on the AI boards last night as well! LOL I so adore you, Constantine! Anywho... I don't go to the AI boards but I do know that Constantine is blue lined there...meaning he can't post because he didn't go through the proper channels to get "permission" or something along those lines. The fans there told Greekboy how to post short sentences and they can search and read them. Anyway... I don't know who this GGP person is but whoever you are...if you're a friend of the Greekboy then you're A-OK in my book! Hope you are having a lovely life and Rock ON!!!

Here's what Greekboy said but I have no idea who this person he is talking about is or what it pertains to. Just that whoever they are...they are a friend of Connie's. Why that came up , I have no clue. Maybe those of you who go to that board can fill in the rest of the internet! LOL I'm waving hello to GGP whoever you may be!!! : )

1. ggpisagoodfriendthnx ...
from GREEKBOY, Nov-28

2. ggpisafriendthanksall ...
from GREEKBOY, Nov-28

And Greekboy..you are so adorable!! You make me laugh more than I have ever laughed in my life and that's a good thing! LOL

Greekboy strikes again!!!

Constantine dropped by at CMST and thanked them for their support!! Wooo Hoooo!! This is what he had to say:

Posted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 6:51 pm Post subject:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"LOVE ALL YOU HOT PEOPLE...CMST RULES ALL GALAXIES!!!

THANKS FOR BEING SO F'N COOL AND SUPPORTIVE...

YOU MAKE ME SMILE WITH MY HEART!!

CJM "

Awwww! Greekboy, you make all of your fans smile with their hearts!!! Seriously, people. How many other entertainers take as much time out of their hectic schedule as Constantine does to show love and appreciation for all the love and support from their fans??? My guess would be not many. Yet, time and time again..every chance Constantine gets he pops up somewhere to thank his fans for everything they do!! The news spreads like chicken pox in a day care center and before ya know it...it's all over the place!!! Next to his awesome stage presence, charismatic performances, smouldering eye boinks, etc....this is what is going to keep Constantine going for a very long time! A closeness with his fans and he makes it a personal experience for everyone possible. I so love this man! He's handsome accompanied with boyish charm, energetic, great sense of humor, a touch of mischief, works his gorgeous ass off, gives 210% to everything he does, listens to suggestions from his fans, takes so much time to mingle with the fans all while climbing that ladder to the top !!! The man never slows down!! Constantine, don't ever change who you are because that is what we love the most...Yes. Constantine the singer, performer, actor are all great BUT.....Constantine the person...the man...is what is the most awesome thing about you, babe!! In the midst of all the fame..you manage to stay "just a guy" and we all love and appreciate that about you!!! Smoochiemaroulis's to you, Connie!!

Connie made the rounds!!

Just had to drop by this morning to let ya all know that Connie made the rounds last night and posted on a few boards (including my favorite board!!) Those boards and posts shall remain nameless except for this one little post. I have to post it because I love it!! Con will always be Con no matter what and he is always willing to set the record straight!! Here's his post in response to a pic that another poster posted. I won't say what board but I will give ya a little low down on it. You may have heard about the famous "camera store incident". This chick posted a pic weeks later as proof that her story was true. LMAO!!!! I so love that Greekboy is never at a loss for words and gets straight to the heart of the matter!!

"that is the fakest shit I have ever seen...and what? That could be anywhere you fuckin' tool...

C"

Ya gotta love it!!! I saw the pic myself and it was definatly fake. The legs on the body were NOT my Greekboy's. I know those long legs anywhere! Also, after lightening the pic you could see where the witch pasted Con's head on to some doofus's body. LOL I won't post the pic either because it will only draw even more attention to it which is what people like that want. I just had to post about it though because it was all too good not to mention!
Keep being true to yourself, Con and to your fans! That's what we love about you most, baby!!

Greekboy in People Sexiest Man Alive Issue.

Constantine may not have won the title of "Sexiest Man Alive" in the special issue of People Magazine but he did get Sexy Thirty Year Old! Pick up your copy of People's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue and turn to page 110!!!
Also, Greekboy was performing in Manila and had a bit of a mishap. Seems the Greek God was doing a spin and dance move while removing his jacket and somehow fell hitting his arm and possibly his head. Though he was scratched and a little bruised he was ok and came back with an awesome performance of Bo Rhap!!!! Manila is lovin' them some Constantine!!! The ride is just beginning! Fasten your seat belts and hang on for life because the Con man is going to take us on the wildest, craziest ride of our lives ever!!!! It's all good! Lots more in store for our man and some surprises as well!!! Break out the ouzo and lets have a great time!!! Keep Rockin'!!!

Another Con Article..

http://www.philstar.com/philstar/LIFESTYLE200511189709.htm

Few reality stars ever stand the test of time. For American Idol, a show that’s
been beamed to millions of people
across the world, the breakout stars have been sporadic at best. Some manage to bag MTV airplay and TRL tapings (Kelly Clarkson) while others fade into VH1’s Where are they now? (Justin Guarini).

Constantine Maroulis, the seventh Idol finalist to get booted out in the fourth season, managed to parlay his smoldering gaze and rocker image into a blossoming career that, so far, has involved a featured single in a Queen tribute album (called Killer Queen), a solo record in the works and plans for a sitcom with ABC under Kelsey Grammer’s (of Frasier fame) production group.

Most known for his performances of Bohemian Rhapsody and My Funny Valentine on Idol, Maroulis, who grew up Greek Orthodox in Brooklyn, managed to get into the reality show when the age limit was bumped up to 28. The Jim Morrison fan grew up listening to artists like Nat King Cole and The Doors. When asked on the Idol site what album his friends would be surprised to know he owned, he admitted, "Like a Virgin" by Madonna.

The 30-year-old singer, who’s in town for three concerts at Ayala Malls (Nov. 17 at Ayala Greenbelt, Nov. 18 at Alabang Town Center and Nov. 19 at Ayala Center Cebu), was heartened by the reception he received from Filipinos, adding that he was flattered they wanted him so much. During a sit-down interview, Maroulis dished on life after Idol and his future as a classically-trained rocker in the fickle world of show business.

YoungSTAR: Is this your first time in Asia?

Constantine Maroulis:
No, actually it isn’t. I was in Japan performing about a little more than a year ago when I was in Rent. I was in Tokyo and we played Osaka as well. But this is my first time in the Philippines.

What are your impressions so far?

It’s an incredible country. The people are very kind and very spirited and really generous. They’re just so nice to us and so supportive. It’s extraordinary how the show affects so many people worldwide. I’m just glad to be here and flattered that you all wanted me here.

Had you heard anything about the Philippines before you came here?

Oh, of course. I know a lot of kids from the United States that have family here and are of Filipino descent. I’m a pretty worldly individual.

You said you were culturally diverse. Were your friends also from different ethnicities growing up in New York?

Of course, from all walks of life, all shapes and sizes. That’s a part of being a real New Yorker, so definitely.

What was your childhood like? Did you perform a lot as a kid?

Yeah. I was always acting like a clown. I loved to sing from a very early age and I got into theater pretty young, probably about freshman year of high school, which is about the first time I got into real theatrical production. All through grade school I did little performances here and there and I always had good teachers so I’m really thankful to them.

How was studying at the Boston Conservatory of Music?

It’s a wonderful place. I did the undergrad program there in musical theater, studied classical acting, voice, all aspects of the arts really. I feel like I got a well-rounded education and a lot of years of experience under my belt. I got to play lots of different roles that I wouldn’t normally play in the professional world. It was very challenging. Once I got to Idol, it was easy for me to take the criticism of the judges because I had been – in a constructive way – criticized in class my whole time at school. It made me a stronger individual.

Given your musical theater background, would you consider doing a Broadway production in the future?

Absolutely. I’d prefer to do a new show, a role that I can originate.

It’s unusual for a rock singer to have a theater background, being in a band and all. Were they weirded out at all by your background?

Maybe a little at first, but I don’t think it really matters where you come from; it’s really how you produce. For example, I like sports a lot, and some athletes get it done in an ugly sort of way but they get it done and they win, and it doesn’t matter how you look or why you’re doing it as long as you get the job done.

You mentioned that you toured with Rent. How did you get into that production?

I auditioned. I had just graduated from the Boston Conservatory and showcased as an apprentice at the Williamstown Theater Festival and got a lot of experience under my belt there. I moved to New York in the fall of 2002. I moved in with my brother. I had no place to live and I had no money. I just had a big dream and Rent was a show that I always wanted to be a part of. I auditioned, I got the job and I split. Went on the road with them and I took my band (Pray for the Soul of Betty) with me, so it was a pretty cool experience.

We saw during Idol that you kind of split with your band. Do you have definite plans with your band for the future?

Right now, I’m focusing on my solo career and I think it’s sort of vital that I do that right now because I’ve been blessed with this opportunity to pursue my acting. And the world knows me as an individual and not so much part of an ensemble. I’m working on developing my TV show and some solo dates. I love the band and I’m going to be playing some shows in-between when I can with them, and writing some new material for a record down the road. But I love the band and we’re very much still together.

What’s it like being a celebrity, going to fashion shows and getting your photograph taken? Does it drive you crazy or do you enjoy it?

I dig it. Listen, I’ve worked very hard in my life. I come from a hardworking family and I finally have a bit of payoff. Now I have some opportunities. I feel like I deserve them. I think hard work pays off. It’s nice to go out and enjoy yourself and have people take your picture, I’m not going to lie. It’s cool, it’s a good time. But I’m not really too caught up in that, I’m very focused on my work and I love to work. I hope to be doing this for years to come.

What’s your most surreal fan experience?

There have been some surreal experiences to say the least but I’m just psyched that people like what I do and I got no complaints. Some fans can be pretty enthusiastic and you just have to be careful sometimes.

You said you’ve been getting free stuff ever since you came off Idol. What’s the best thing you’ve gotten?

So much…We’re working on getting a free car, so that’ll be pretty cool. I give a lot of it away though. I’m always back and forth between New York and LA so it just accumulates. But what I like the most is the band stuff that they give me, the stuff that they spend hours of their own time creating. My fans are extraordinary. They’re people with careers and educations and families. They’re worldly. And they put a lot of thought into the gifts they give me. It became very trendy at one point to start giving me gifts and people were starting to try and outdo each other. They’d group together and put together these massive gifts, it’s really cool.

Can you give some examples?

Beautifully framed pictures, painted portraits of me and this one frame with all sorts of different clippings and pictures of me collaged all throughout the whole frame. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of different pictures and clippings and headlines, all sorts of pictures of me with fans, me with the idols…my whole progression, my whole story on Idol told in this collage. That’s pretty cool. When I did the Killer Queen record, I was given this mint condition vinyl version of A Night at the Opera, which is the Queen record with Bohemian Rhapsody on it. It’s signed by all the band members and it’s framed in this beautiful frame with a plaque with a certificate of authenticity. It’s worth thousands of dollars. It’s got Freddie Mercury’s signature in this beautiful pink marker. Someone paid a lot of money for that and they gave it to me.

What was the experience like working on the Queen tribute album?

It was awesome. To step into those shoes even for a brief moment is the highest honor for me because Freddie Mercury is someone that I grew up idolizing as a songwriter, vocalist, and performer. If I could achieve even a fraction of his success and charisma, I’d be a very lucky man.

Did you get to meet the other artists who worked on the album?

No, I didn’t get to meet them. The album was pretty much done. When I did the song on the show, all of a sudden they were like, "We need that for the record." And then it ended up being the featured song, which was cool. They already had a version of Bohemian Rhapsody done by the Flaming Lips, which was sort of artsy and very different but they wanted something which was more true to the original. We were given very little time and very little money to actually do the thing and we ended up doing it in about three days. It was very cool.

Did you feel competitive knowing there was another artist who performed the same song on the CD?

No, I just felt like I wanted to do the best that I could and people were either going to like it or not. Just like I did on the show, no one wanted me to do that song. The producers were like, "Constantine, this is not a good idea." But when I pulled it off it was cool, it was either going to make me or break me. I like challenging myself like that, taking risks. It’s fun.

Is it more important for you in future projects to please critics or your fans?

My fans, definitely. It’s all about the fans. I don’t care what the critics say.

Growing up with a theater background, did it kind of numb you to the pain of criticism compared to the other artists on Idol who are neophytes in the industry? Do you think your background gave you an edge over them in terms of performing?

Not really. I mean five of them went further than I did on the show and of that five, only one of them had the same amount of experience as I did. I think when you have lots of life experiences it can make your work that much better, more true and organic. It worked for me, but I think some people gravitated more towards a guy like Anthony (Fedorov), for example, because he was so new and fresh and inexperienced, and that’s really cool. I think that’s what’s great about the show this year. You had 10 awesome talents in the finals that represented every part of the spectrum. We were all winners.

What was the best part of the experience for you?

Getting to know the kids on the show. The whole process, seeing all the work that goes into it, the whole show from top to bottom. That’s why they’re No. 1 and that’s why I’m in the Philippines for American Idol, a show that I did a year ago. It reaches so many people because it’s a great show and it takes a lot to make it great. I really appreciate their hard work and discipline.

Coming from a rock background, did you feel like you were selling out having to perform the songs that you did on the show?

No, not at all. I think that the music industry has changed so much and these are the sort of opportunities that are out there for people with some talent. You have to put yourself out there if you want to survive. This is what I do – this is all do. I sing and I act – I perform. It’s not like I wasn’t trying to do it the old-fashioned way for 10 years. I just kind of went for it; I bought into the whole process. I feel like I brought something cool to the competition.

I feel like a guy like me being on the show makes it a bit more accepted in the popular music community. I don’t feel like a sellout at all. In fact, I’d love to sell out now and make some money and ensure that I can take care of my family and my friends for a long time, and just make music.

Do you come from a big family?

Yes, a huge family. My immediate family isn’t really big, it’s myself – I’m the youngest of three – with an older brother and sister. My parents have been married for over 40 years – to each other – but I have well over 20 first cousins just on my mom’s side and they all have children. We’re a big happy family.

How did your family react to your success?

They’re very proud of me and they’ve been very supportive. They’ve been an integral part of this whole process. Without them, I wouldn’t have gotten this far at all.

Are there any artists you want to work with in the future?

Oh, tons. Bring them on, all of them. I love working with everyone, I think everyone brings such a different flavor. There’s hundreds. It’d be great to do a tune with David Bowie, Bono or even Bonnie Raitt or Norah Jones…There are some really cool people out there. Acting-wise, I’d love to do movies with any of the great American actors like Johnny Depp – I love Johnny Depp – and Charlize Theron. I’ve actually become friends with some of these people, it’s kind of crazy. Celebrities are big fans of the show, it gives them a chance to sit back and be a fan for once.

If you were going to approach any of these artists, what would you tell them that you can bring to the table?

I have great visibility right now. I came off a huge show with a gigantic audience. Just from a sheer business standpoint, that’s a good selling point to them. But I’m honest about my work and I really love what I do, and, yes, a show like American Idol is what brought me to the masses but the music is in my heart and my soul. If they want to work with me, they want to work with me. I won’t twist anyone’s arms or beg, but I certainly hope to work with the many great artists that are out there.

“I WAS ALWAYS HOPPING FROM ONE JOB TO ANOTHER. Now, it’s nice to just wake up every morning and think about my music and acting. I don’t have to go back to waiting tables.”

Constantine Maroulis, finalist in the 2005 edition of the wildly popular “American Idol,” spoke with the local entertainment press on Monday about life before and after the talent search.

Said the New York-based rocker. “I worked very hard for a long time in this business just to get a job—I’ve studied, I’ve toured, everything. [Now] the attention is a bit overwhelming. I’m actually a shy person, believe it or not.”

Constantine is in the country for a series of concerts, titled “Constantine Maroulis Live at Ayala Malls.”

Tomorrow night, at 8 p.m., Constantine will be at the Greenbelt 3 Park in Makati City. On Friday, 7 p.m., he will perform at the Alabang Town Center. On Saturday, he flies to Cebu for a show at the Ayala Mall there.

How do you handle women swooning over you?
I don’t

have much luck with women. But I’d like to just concentrate on my work. Hopefully, I’d meet somebody I could fall in love with and have a family with.

How about men swooning over you?

Well, I’m flattered that anyone likes me and what I do—as long as they dig my music, too. I’ve been involved in theater so I’m used to [various] sexual orientations. I’m very comfortable with everybody. I also grew up with a very culturally diverse family, with my parents being Greek Orthodox. I’m cool with everyone.

Are you going back to theater?

I’ve already received a lot of calls from New York about some new shows. I love the theater. But right now, it’s important for me to focus on my solo career and the album that I will be working on full time this winter.

If you had to really focus, would you be an actor or a singer?

I grew up doing both. I consider myself a Renaissance man. I studied dance, music and acting. I play instruments, I love rock ’n’ roll, jazz. I like to do all [of that]. That’s probably why it took me this long to get to where I am—I’ve spread myself thin. But I’m cool with that.

Let’s talk about your idols, what’s the first rock band that you really loved?

It has got to be The Doors. Jim Morrison was an amazing poet and a great performer. I also like stuff from the ’80s, like Bon Jovi, Guns ’n’ Roses, Nirvana and Queen.

Turning the tables, what would be the three questions you’d ask your fans?

Are you going to stay with me forever? Are you always going to be a friend of mine? What is it, besides my singing or the way I look, that you like about me?

Are you dating anyone?

No. I don’t have time. It’s not fair to the girl. You know, being single is boring. It would be nice to share all these great things with someone.

How’s Constantine when he’s in love? Do you serenade your woman?

Most of the time, the girls I date are sick with my singing all the time. They only sort of want to see the other side of me. Yeah, I’m pretty romantic.

What’s your take on the idea that you’re a role model for the youth?

I welcome it. I love children and I think I could be a good role model. I have a positive outlook of the world. I come from a good family. I’ve always worked hard. I’ve always taken school seriously. I’ve always tried to be respectful to other people. I make mistakes but I always overcome them. I think that’s important. No one’s perfect.

What’s the greatest lesson you’ve learned from ‘AI’?

That I still have a lot to learn in the business and with my art. That’s what I love about my art, it’s ever growing, whether as an opera singer, rock singer, classical or Shakespearean actor. It’s a continuous process. You can learn from everyone.

What was your first reaction when you heard you were being invited to a faraway place called the Philippines?

I was so flattered. This is not my first trip to Asia. I’ve been to Japan when I was touring “Rent.” We played in Tokyo and Osaka. Japan is a beautiful country but it’s not like here. The Philippines is really special. I wish I had the opportunity to come here before. I’ve heard about the beautiful beaches in Cebu. I’m just so excited to be here.

Walk away from the negative!

I really need to stay away from all the negativity that has been going on lately. It's a waste of breath and time to try to reason with unreasonable people.
I can't wait until Constantine goes to Manila, appears at the Starland Ballroom and the House of Blues! I need a Constantine fix! I haven't really ran across any new pictures or anything. Maybe a few but that's not enough. It's never enough! I'm just a Constantine Junkie! I can't get enough of this man and when I can't get my fix, I get cranky and suffer horrible mood swings! Yeah, I know. The mood swings are just a natural occurance thing for me. LOL I've gotten better though. I stay on a more even keel for a longer amount of time than I used to! I'm proud of myself!
Anyway, I have to work tomorrow which is something that I am not looking forward to so there's a major mood swing about to take place. I don't mind my job. It's the morons I work with! How I keep from strangling them is beyond me. Guess I'll head on to bed and hope to see C in my dreams.

Supporting my Connie 100%!

Once again the net is a buzz about my Connie. I can't help but laugh at the ones who spend all of their time twisting and turning everything Constantine says or does into what they want it to mean. The more time they spend tracking what Constantine is doing and saying and manipulating his words the more recognition their idols lose out on. The bashers are just helping to keep Connie's name out there. While everyone is talking about Constantine, no one is talking about the other idols so who do you think is on the minds of everyone?? Yep! CONSTANTINE MAROULIS! Ha! Ya gotta love it! Keep up your tantrums! It plays out in Con's favor. While everyone is thinking about Connie, who is thinking about the others?? You all are cutting your own throats. You should be talking about the release of Bo's album coming up or what's going on with Carrie. For that matter , what the heck happened to Scotty??? Nobody knows because you're all thinking about Constantine! LOL I think you people have a lot of nerve to call Con's fans names and to rip on them when you all are showing who the true nasties are! The Con fans are supporting their man instead of wasting time trying to bash other people. That's what we're gonna keep on doing! Supporting Constantine and staying positive!! What's Vonzell doing or Anthony?? Nobody knows but ask everyone what Constantine is up to and you'll get an ear full! It doesn't get any better than that! Love ya, Connie! Keep 'em talkin'!!!!

Constantine..off topic??

I have been reading the Betty boards and I'm sorry to say that I don't really care for the way things have been going over there. It seems that any post pertaining to only Constantine is moved to the Off Topic section. There are posts that pertain only to Taylor, Ham, etc. that are not moved to the off topic section so why do they insist on moving Constantine threads to off topic?? Constantine is still a part of PFTSOB. Anything pertaining to Con on that board..whether it be Constantine alone or with the group is still very much ON TOPIC imo and I don't care for the way that they seem to be separating Constantine from PFTSOB. Doesn't make sense. It's messed up, F*d up, and just plain stupid . I am standing behind Constantine in everything he does..with or without Betty. Don't the Bettys realize that PFTSOB probably still wouldn't be known to most people if it weren't for Constantine being on AI?? Do I think that they owe Constantine for that?? HELL YEAH!!! They owe him respect and gratitude. Not all of the Betty fans are this way but the ones that are SUCK! Sometimes I'd like to ask those Bettys who seem to think that they are more important than the rest just who in the hell they think they are. I am really pissed!!!!!!! This is just my opinion which doesn't mean crap to anyone but me but that's ok. I had to vent. I did. DONE.

How heartbreaking!

Constantine again posted on the Betty boards and once again, he wasn't happy or pleased. What the hell is wrong with people? Why can't they just enjoy the ride and let Constantine do the driving?? Most of them don't know him personaly, have never met him yet feel the need to cast judgement upon him, tell him what to do , what he should be doing, guess at what he hasn't done, and ruin the trip for the rest of us! STFU and let Constantine do his thing! It's a damn shame that he feels the need to keep defending himself. Don't give up , Constantine and don't let anyone get you down! No one else can be you except YOU!!! Keep doing just that! Love ya as always!!

Sometimes I am just amazed at the stuff I read. I can't get over the backlash of this stupid R&RG Show interview. I mean, are we for real here people? You know how much shit I took from all the Idols this summer with the gifts and the love I got that most of them did not get? You have no idea!! Most of them HATE me. Still I always put them first. If you go back and listen to the thousands of interviews I did this year, I always put my fellow Idols first and stick up for them in everyway. So the onetime I don't go OUT of my way to do so I get crucified? Talk about unfair. Those Idols are my family, dig? I would do anything for them and you know it. (they know it too) You don't know how these prick DJs are sometimes, they are very manipulative. I love the Idols and everything that American Idol gave me...trust me!!

Cindy Margolis is a friend!!! F R I E N D !!! You know what that poor women has been thru this year tryin to have kids? Give me a break!! I was raised better than that. We are friends and that is it! She is happilly married and I know her husband well.

Sorry if I sound upset...I am. For those of you that have loved and supported me all along (most of you) thank you from the bottom of my heart. I thank my lucky stars everyday that I have the greatest fans in the world...sometimes you just puzzle me! I AM NOT PERFECT...I AM JUST ME!! Hang in there...it's gonna be a crazy ride!!

Thank you all for listening and I hope I don't lose too many fans as a result
;)

your humble yet not perfect servant,

CJM

No AI Christmas

Now there seems that there will be no AI Christmas special for 2005. That's sad. I was so looking forward to seeing Constantine. Guess I will be Constantineless.
You New Jersey fans won't have to go without Connie! He will be at the Starland Ballroom Dec. 21st! What a great Christmas present from Constantine to you!!!
Guess I'm going to have to produce a map showing Connie how to get to my area from any place else in the universe and beyond. Maybe he'll take the hint and actually come someday.

My slave..Playin' the game...playin' it smart!

Constantine as Hedwig! Love it!!!

Looks like Cons is doing a great job of..well..Everything!! He's got the new tv show lined up. Not sure when work will start on it but I can't wait! Making an appearance at Club Blu AND still keeping in touch with his fans! Constantine posted on the Betty boards and it said:

Playin the game...playin smart

Don't ya just love cryptic messages!! Where's my decoder ring! LOL Not sure what it means but I have a few guesses but to spare myself the embarrassment of being completely wrong (which I am quite often!) I won't elaborate!!

Also.Constantine updated his journal on his website..constantinemaroulis.com! That post was a lot longer and full of info!

October 14th, 2005

Greetings Earthlings!!

So...things have been very busy and I'm sorry it took me so long to update
the site. I assure you, we are doing our best to keep you informed as to
what I am up to. As far as the immediate future, I believe we have found
the right person to write and help create the television show and are so
pleased to be in business with...her! She is very accomplished and really
seems to "get it". In fact she currently runs a very successful show that
many of you watch. My brother Athan has been in attendance at every meeting
in case you were wondering and it has been awesome having him in town.
Athan will return to NY soon to his own life only to rejoin me in Manilla in
a few weeks. The people at ABC are wonderful and I am so blessed to have
this oppurtunity...thank you all very much! So much goes into making a
project like this happen and I ask that you are all as patient as you can be
so that we can put out the best show possible. The more buzz you can create
the better though! Keep the Street Team mentality going baby!!

You have heard by now that I will be doing some shows in Manilla,
Phillipines. Looking so forward to this. Hey, I go where the work takes
me. Those of you that will be there you can expect an array of songs I
performed on Idol and a few surprises. At the shows I will be using a local
orchestra/band and back up singers...should be exciting. I have already
sent them the music and they are furiously rehearsing..at least I hope they
are! Believe it or not, I have never really done a solo show of this
magnitude before. This is a new experience for me and I of course relish
the challenge. I welcome any feedback or thoughts you have and will be
implementing a more direct way to do this via this site in the very near
future. Stay tuned...

In addition to Manilla, you can expect some solo shows in December...that's
right just before the holidays. These shows are still being worked out but
are slated to be in the NY/NJ area in some really beautiful places. This
will give me an oppurtunity to be home for the holidays for the first time
in years. Of course you know how much my family means to me and this will
make it an extra special Christmas. Again, I have never done this before
and will be learning all along what works and what doesn't. I can't wait to
be in the same room with you all again...OW!! Getting excited just thinking
about it!! For the first time I will be hiring a band and putting the whole
show together on my own. (with a little help from my friends ;) As soon as
I know...you will know! Tickets will be on sale soon so get ready!! You
can expect an eclectic mix of contemporary and classic songs with some real
hip arrangements and dialogue by yours truly. Think of a giant cabaret act
that totally rocks...yeah something like that. These will be "one-off"
shows and won't necessarilly reflect my choice of songs for my eventual solo
debut...I think ;) ! Been meeting some of the best producers and
songwriters in town and can't wait to get in the studio to knock it out!
WOOPIE!!

WWW.CONSTANTINEMAROULIS.COM is pleased to announce that we will be launching
some really cool new merchandise exclusively available here at
www.constantinemaroulis.com very soon!! The designs are amazing! Very

NOT a strip club!

Poor Constantine! Here is a post he made at thet BB re: Club Blu.

>Qoute:

Not performing at this club

It is not s strip club

Do you honestly think I would do that?

In fact it is a really nice place

They are paying me to do an appearence...that is all

It's more of a college club...they do stuff like this

I am doing my best

thanks,

C

Sounds a little upset. People need to stop trying to run his career and sit back and enjoy the ride! People post rumors instead of taking the time to check things out which always back fires and starts a big controversy. Imo..Constantine is 30 years old. If he performs at a strip club (and he's NOT) so flippin' what! He's a grown man for crying out loud!! The man can't live his life trying to please everyone and make everbody happy. It will never happen. He's gotta do what his heart tells him to do. You are either gonna support him or not. If not, get the hell out of the car and let the rest of us enjoy the ride!

Land of the lost

Hi, everybody! I'm BAAAAACK!! What the hell!! My computer was down and I just got around to fixing it. I had to get a new network card but hey, it's all good. I've been really busy at work, major dilemas, etc. but things have calmed down for the time being.
What about Cons on Leno?? Woo hoo! The man was beautiful and did an awesome job! Btw...they are re airing it tonight so check your local listings! : )
Here's some pics of Con's new car! The only thing that could look better than Con in that car is me in that car next to him! LOL

The Betty Show

I heard Con and Betty were so damn hot last night in NYC! I got some pics but don't know which ones I can post here without getting in trouble. Some of these people are so strange. They say "these pics don't leave this board" "Don't post them anywhere else" bet yet the very same people saying this crap are going to other boards and swiping the pics that are posted there and posting them on their boards. I am so not down with that. If you don't want them posted elsewhere then send them to your buddies in private emails. Good grief!
I'll be back later and post some pics. I'll try and find the ones that don't have any death threats attached to 'em for posting them elsewhere. GRRRRRRRR!!!

As the season 4 Idol tour comes to an end....

What lies ahead for the top ten ?? Hmmm...That's a good question. I know that next week, Constantine will do two shows with Betty on Sept. 18th in NYC at the Lion's Den. After that, I have no clue. Possible TV show, a solo album, he can do almost anything but what will he choose? Probably a little of everything.
Bo Bice was at the show last night. He was very thin. I hope he can gain some of that weight back. The poor guy. He's a sweetie.
Scott should do well in the horror film industry. I can see him in the next Scream sequal.
It's sad to know the Idol tour is over. I really enjoyed all of the recaps, cellcerts, pics, articles, stories, etc. I know there is more to come but it won't be the same. I guess that's bitter sweet.
I have some pics but I think I'll save them until tomorrow. I've managed to depress myself so I'm better off if I just go to bed and hopefully I can sleep it off and wake up to a bright new day.

Well, here it is!

The Shirtless Con pic I was looking for! Ok..so I'm a little late getting this posted but sometimes little things just get in the way. Little things like life in general. I've got a little bit going on here, a little bit going on there, and a whole lot of stuff going on over yonder but I'm hanging in there and doing the best I can!!
Lates news: Bo will be at the AI Hurrican performance doing a song he wrote called "You can't change the world". At least I think that's what it is. So glad Bo will be there and I'm sure his fans are really looking forward to it. Bo, just take it easy. No need to be a wild man without the Dr.'s ok.
Next bit of news is a personal favorite of mine. Taylor (of PFTSOB) posted on the BB that there will be two shows on Sept. 18th in honor of my Greekboy's birthday! A Betty and Con together again birthday party blast! How awesome is that! Remember that's Sept. 18th. Two shows. One at 5 the other at 8 I believe. In NY. more details can be found on the BB.
Guess that's about all I have for this round. I've got a flippin' headache so I'll be going to bed soon. Plus, I have to do that horrible word...."WORK" tomorrow!

No luck as of yet...

Still looking for pics and videos of the shirtless Con man from Pitts. No luck. However I did find this little treasure........

Con does a strip tease in Pittsburg

I've been hearing lots of reports that Connie did a bit of a strip tease in Pittsburg! I'm anxiously awaiting pics and/or video of this!! He took off his shirt and tossed it to the audience! Too hot to handle, babe. You're just too hot!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. Keep the victims of Katrina in your hearts and prayers.
Been really swamped at work so I've been too tired and have had very little time to write but I hope that will change soon.

Where's all the Con pics??

Hey,you! Come here!! Where's all the Con pics from the Idol tour? Dayum! I've been looking around and haven't really found many new pics that I don't already have. Wonder what's up with that? I'm probably just looking in the wrong places. Wouldn't be the first time!
I had an easy day at work today. That's a good thing I guess although I'd rather get in my hours because I'm money hungry! LOL Now I'm off until Wed. so I guess I'll be working on getting some message boards up and running. I haven't got a clue as to what I am doing but I guess I can tinker around with it and learn as I go. The worst that can happen is I'll have to take it down and start all over again. No big. LMAO!
There sure are a lot of trolls out on the various message boards lately. Don't those people have a life to live , a job, a house to clean, a husband, kids, a dog or SOMETHING to give them something to do?? I couldn't sit around all day and raise hell with people on a message board that I don't even know. Must take a very sick mind and a demented soul to do that. They need to seek professional help!!! (yes, I need to seek a spelling teacher but we won't talk about that!! LOL) Well, sweet dreams to me. I'm out of here. May my dreams be filled with Constantine, Betty, and all things Maroulis!

The truth about Bo and keep him in your prayers!

Got this from Bo's band's Sugar Money site. God bless you, Bo and here's hoping for a complete and speedy recovery. Looks like Bo is out of the Idol tour but I'm sure we'll be hearing and seeing alot of him once he has recovered from his surgery. Thank God they found what the problem was and were able to fix it. Hugs and lots of love to Bo Bice.

Sugar Money: "8/20/05
Please continue to keep our friend and band mate, Bo Bice and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is our primary concern that Bo regains his physical health and strength. We have all been very concerned and uncertain as to what has been causing his recent illness.

Thanks to some incredibly kind prayers and words of support from family, friends and fans, and thanks to the skilled hands of some incredible Doctors and Surgeons, Bo has successfully undergone an emergency medical procedure that was urgently needed to save his life. Bo had a blockage in his intestines that required immediate surgery. After the successful surgery it is critical that Bo rests for a minimum of six weeks. He will be returning to his home soon to do so.

Bo and his family are grateful for your prayers, thoughts, and support throughout this serious and unexpected medical situation.

Please Check our News section periodically for updates on Bo's recovery."
