Maximum Overdrive..The Sequel

Have you ever seen the movie Maximum Overdrive? It was a movie out in the mid 80's that starred Emilio Estevez where the machines and power tools tried to take over and went on the attack. It seems that Constantine Maroulis in landing a part in Brel has inspired the sequel to this movie across the internet. There are some tools gone wild. By tools I mean non-Con fans who follow him and his fans every move. They go to every article, blog, and message board that they can to leave negative comments and feed back about Constantine and his fans. The topic of the moment seems to be the behavior of Constantine fans at the Brel shows. Seems the tools think the Con fans will be squeeing, screaming and peeing all over the place at inappropriate moments and ruin the show. Sounds to me like wishful thinking. The tools are hoping and praying that Con fans and Constantine himself will step out of line and ruin the entire show for everyone. I have to LOL about this! For people who profess to not like the guy but yet follow his every move..some even going so far as to show up at his performances and shows and spend a great deal of time attempting to degrade Constantine and his fans has got to be the most bizarre behavior ever!!! Who in their right mind would spend money and waste precious time out of their life to keep such close tabs on people that apparently bring no enjoyment to them?? Seems to me that it would only make them miserable. I guess the enjoyment comes in at the part where the non fans think that by bringing negative comments to everything that Constantine and his fans love and enjoy they will be able to dismember the fandoms and halt Constantine's progressive career. If they truly believe that Constantine and his fans are that bad then they need to do nothing. All they would have to do is sit back, relax and wait for it to all fall apart on its own. Let nature take its course. On the other hand, there is really no need for Constantine fans to defend their Greek boy. Let his talents speak for him. You know he's going to be great in Brel and do you proud! Let those talents do the talking for you. Doing his best and putting everything he has into his performances will ease away a good portion of the concerns. People need to see for themselves that Constantine can do this part and do it well. Those of you who can, be there to support him . In the end you will get satisfaction out of seeing him do a wonderful job and showing others just how much talent he truly has. Put your faith in Greek boy and his performance. It will speak louder than any defense you could provide. Of course there are always going to be those who have different opinions and won't love Constantine's performance in Brel or in anything else for that matter but that's ok. You can't please everyone.
To the fans of Brel I say that I understand your concerns but that I hope you will be fair and give Constantine a chance to show what he can do before making your final decision on his performance in Brel. You just may be pleasantly surprised. It's also very sad that people have harassed you. Please don't let a few bad seeds ruin your apple pie and your perception of all of Constantine's fans. Give his fans a chance as well and please don't base your opinions on words typed on the internet. You never really know if it was Constantine fans or not. I'm sure you will meet quite a few of them at Brel and that will give you a true sense of how the majority of them really are be it good or bad.

GH's Luke and Laura Drop in on TWS

Original Article Here
Anthony Geary and Genie Francis aka "General Hospital" stars Luke and Laura will make a guest appearance in Broadway's The Wedding Singer Nov. 15.

During The Wedding Singer's first act, a press release states, "George (Kevin Cahoon) and Sammy (Constantine Maroulis) are cheering up their friend Robbie (Stephen Lynch) who was just jilted at the altar. Noticing that Robbie's predicament seems a lot like a soap opera, George mentions 'General Hospital' and Luke and Laura. That's when Geary and Francis will pop in for a cameo playing their television roles."

The Wedding Singer, the new musical based on the Adam Sandler film of the same name, will end its Broadway run at the Hirschfeld Theatre Dec. 31. The musical will have played 30 previews and 284 performances.

Singer and comedian Lynch heads the cast as Robbie Hart, the role created on screen by film star Sandler. Lynch plays opposite two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Benanti, who co-stars as his love interest Julia. The cast also features Richard Blake, Cahoon, Felicia Finley, Rita Gardner, Maroulis and Amy Spanger.

In The Wedding Singer "it's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer," according to the producers. "He's the life of the party-until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding he plays as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of the decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. With a brand new score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980s, The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer just might be the coolest guy in the room."

The Wedding Singer plays the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, 302 West 45th Street.

ATTN:Marc Hirsh..What are you? A Clown??

Just wanted to give my .02 on this whacked out article written by Bozo..err I mean Marc Hirsh who mentions Constantine Maroulis. The entire article is a little lengthy so I will post and respond to the parts I have an opinion on. The full article can be found here but the part I want to talk about is found here

1."So why do successful recording careers elude almost all of them? A recent “Village Voice” profile of Constantine Maroulis hints at an answer. "

A successful recording career eluded Constantine Maroulis?? I strongly disagree. Constantine was and currently is working on his debut album scheduled to be released sometime early in 2007. Can the man get his album out there first before you judge the success of his recording career??(talking solo here..not Betty.) Oh, and VV is one article with one person's take on a day in the life of Mr. Maroulis. Someone else could have spent that same day with him at the same time and came away with something totally different. VV focused on one aspect of it.

2."The singer was, for better or for worse, one of the standouts of the fourth season of “Idol,”

I agree with this. There is no doubt about it. Constantine was one of the standouts of AI 4 .

3."a self-satisfied, ultra-theatrical smarm factory who desperately wanted to be a badass rocker. "

Self satisfied?? No. I don't think so. Someone who is self satisified would not be striving to further their career. They would be happy with the way things were/are. Not the case with Greekboy imo.
An ultra-theatrical smarm factory...yep. That's just one of the many reasons why Constantine was and still is so popular with his many fan bases and gaining more fans along the line. They love how he combines his theatrical experience and acting skills with the songs he performs to put on one of the best shows one could ever attend. Someone should buy Mr. Clown..I mean..Mr. Hirsh a ticket to the next Constantine show! He obviously hasn't been to one yet!
Desperately wanted to be a badass rocker?? Now I am not in Constantine's head so I can't tell you what it is that Constantine truly wants or wanted but I can tell you what I perceive him to want. Imo..Constantine wants to do it all. He said so on AI and still says so to this day. I think Mr. Maroulis wants to act, sing, write a few songs, do big screen, small screen, do Broadway, off Broadway, maybe even some directing of his own and one by one the Greek one is doing each of these things a little at a time. It's only the beginning. I'm sure there are many great and new things on Constantine's to do list and I'm sure those things will be checked off one by one all in good time.

4."His fiercely devoted fanbase couldn’t prevent him from being kicked out in sixth place, "
That statement is very true but it wasn't for lack of trying. Constantine's many fan bases supported him to the end during his run on AI(and most continue to support him to this day). You might want to read the fine print concerning AI. They have the right to eject anyone at any time for any reason they want. I used to have a link to back up my statement but it is eluding me at the moment. (Maybe another fan out there can help out with this.)

5."an event that caused Abdul to bawl magnificently on national television."
Paula wasn't the only one crying. and I'm sure I wasn't alone on this either. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise imo.

6."Maroulis seems to have never gotten over his ejection, and his plans to return to the public spotlight are so single-minded that they would more accurately be described as “plotting.”

I just don't see Greekboy sitting around sulking and crying over getting the boot off of AI. Instead I see him out there working at making all of his dreams come true. He's not an Idle Idol by any means. As far as his plans to return to the public spotlight..the man never left! The name "Constantine Maroulis" is continuously being heard and the man himself written about in many, many articles. Mr . Clown..I mean Hirsh even mentioned him in this article!
As far as single mindedness goes I don't see that as a bad thing. (although I disagree with the statement itself) You have to believe in yourself because if you don't who will and I'd like to meet one person who doesn't do some "plotting" to make the best out of their future! If you want something it's not gonna just drop in your lap. You have to think about what it is you want then get out there and make it happen. You have to plan, plot, and calculate your every move and how to make it happen and go after it because if you just sit there on your arse and wait for those things to come to you..you will most likely be waiting your life away. You have to get out there and go for it.

7."He broke up his band, Pray For The Soul Of Betty"

WTH??? This statement baffles the shit out of me. Constantine didn't break up PFTSOB. He himself left the band...a career decision he made and had every right to do so. As for the other band members...they were free to find a new lead singer and carry on. Happens all the time. For whatever reason they chose not to. In fact, if I remember correctly it was the Ex-Betty Drummer..Michael Hamboussi who announced that Betty was no more after Constantine announced his departure from the band. What the remaining Betty boys wanted to do was entirely in their hands. They chose to no longer be a band and to go in different directions. That had nothing to do with Constantine or with his departure. If PFTSOB wanted to remain a band, they would have.

8."and proposed modeling contracts and sitcom offers never materialized"

For cryin' out loud! To make a long story short..this dude needs a copy of the Chatterbox Interview delivered to him A.S.A.P.

9. "Even his current Broadway gig, in “The Wedding Singer” (where his costumes are still labeled with the name of the actor he replaced), smacks of the sort of C-list stuntcasting that results in Brooke Shields playing Roxie Hart and Sally Bowles. (It happened.)"

I think TWS costumes were still labeled with the name of the other actor because TWS was in danger of closing and it will be closing soon. Also..Constantine was not slated as a permanent replacement for the other actor which leads me to believe that they fully expected him(the other actor) to return to the show. Unfortunately, though ticket sales did pick up, it was a little too late and the show was unable to be saved.

10."What the article suggests is that Maroulis (and, by extension, the dozens of “Idol” finalists to date) has the career not of a recording artist but of a former reality show star, with all of the fleeting fame that that implies. "

That may be how Mr . Hirsh interprets the VV article and I say true..you can't have a career as a recording artist until you have a recording out there on the market. One is coming for Mr. Maroulis. With the release of his solo album and shows sure to follow..that is when we will know if Constantine has what it takes to be a successful recording artist(I happen to think that he does) and and to be successful in all other aspects that Greekboy is made of! I'm betting on the Greekboy! He's as hard headed as they come and he's willing to do what it takes to get to where he wants to be. I have total faith in his abilities. All of them.

And there you have it. My .02 on this article. Although I realize my opinions really aren't even worth 2 cents..it's my blog and I can do what I want with it so.. :P~

Divorce is a very sad thing....

Forget about Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe, Britney Spears and FedEx. The divorce that everyone is talking about is the divorce that occurred just over a week ago between Constantine Maroulis and one of his fan bases. Seems an ex member/mod had a few comments that must have been the last straw for the Greek one. In response to an article written in "The Hub" one of the Ex Co Wives apparently posted that they thought Constantine was a jackass for dressing as a Pirate on Oct. 30th at Snitch in NY. Seems the Ex Co wife felt that Greekboy only dressed as a pirate due to "the board" and she didn't like that because she doesn't want him to do stuff because his fans beg him to. She went on to say that she wanted him to have his own intelligent, witty personality and wasn't happy because it was the fans idea that he sing I Think I Love You by the Partridge Family on AI. Don't know if Constantine saw the post himself or if someone sent it to him but those comments were enough for Greekboy to file for divorce. An exchange of words took place and then Constantine packed up his things and walked out the door. Seems Constantine waived his right to visitation and the remaining co wives are divided on if they would like to try to reconcile.
As for me...I'm still wearing Greekboy's favorite T-shirt and listening to his Purple Rain record too!! I still love and support my favorite Greek boy!!
